Volunteer Opportunities

Front Desk Assistance

Greet walk-in clients and offer helpful information to clients, donors, and volunteers. As the face of Cross-Lines, the front desk volunteer is in charge of answering phones and assisting with various administrative duties. Shifts: Mon-Thurs, 9a-12p or 1p-4p. (Shadowing shifts required) 

Community Kitchen Breakfast & Lunch Service

The Community Kitchen offers two daily opportunities to serve our community members in need. Duties include preparing food, serving meals, and cleaning up post-meal. Shifts: Mon-Fri, 7:30a-9:30a or 9:45a-1:15p. 

Community Market and Warehouse

A no-cost grocery store experience that provides food, hygiene, and cleaning supplies to Wyandotte County residents. Cross-Lines needs volunteers to help with intake, checking/bagging, stocking, and cleaning. Shifts: Mon-Thurs, 9a-12p, or 1p-3p. 

Nutrition Education

Provide healthy snack and meal demonstrations and information in the Community Market, teaching shoppers about the role of nutrition in leading a healthy life. Shifts: Custom 

Sack Lunch Provider

If you’d like to volunteer from afar, Cross-Lines needs trusty volunteers to assemble sack lunches for clients to take to work. Through the efforts of many volunteers, we give out around 1,000 sack lunches each month. Shifts: On your own schedule! Coordinate delivery with Volunteer Manager.
