Cross-Lines couldn't exist without our amazing volunteers!  We are dependent on the generosity of individuals and groups to share their time, talent and hearts with us.  There are many opportunities for you to find your own special place in our family of volunteers.  Whatever time you can give, whatever skills you can share…we are extremely grateful!

  • August 11 & 12

These volunteer opportunities involve lifting 30 pounds or more, and repetitive movements.

 Community Garden

The Cross-Lines Garden grows 5,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables each year.  The majority of the food grown is used to supplement groceries that are distributed to low-income families in Wyandotte County through our Food Pantry.  Families, groups and individuals are needed to work in our garden every Monday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 – 10:30AM.  Volunteers handle all planting, watering, harvesting, and weeding.  Volunteers are needed for the dates listed below:

  • May 21 / 28 – cage tomato plants

  • May 21 / 28 – spread wood mulch

  • June 29 / July 2 – harvest potatoes

Thrift Store

Our Thrift Store provides new and gently used household and clothing items to our clients at fair prices.  We are in need of individuals or small groups of volunteers to help sort, price, and display donations as well as volunteers with cash register experience to help work the check-out line.  Our Thrift Store is open Monday – Saturday from 9:00 – 4:00

Campus Grounds Upkeep

From spring to fall Cross-Lines is in need of volunteers to help with general campus cleanup which may include mowing grass, trimming and edging, picking up trash, removing downed tree limbs, etc.
